Love Your Heart, Stay Healthy

Heart disease has always been a major killer and it sometimes appears as if there’s little we can do to stop it. It’s incredible that it claims 17.7 million lives every year and accounts for 1 in 3 deaths. This infographic from Study Medicine Europe takes you through how you can protect your most vital organ.

Caring for your heart needs to come from you as damage often goes unseen until we’re hit with a sudden cardiac arrest or heart attack. If treatment is not received within a few minutes of experiencing a cardiac arrest, a person will die. There is a higher chance of surviving a heart attack but the longer you go without treatment, the more damage that will be done.

There is no readymade treatment for heart disease so you will need to do everything you can to take of your heart. This starts at a young age and people in their 20s should be following a fitness routine as we often start damaging our heart at a very young age. There is no magic pill your doctor can give you if you lead an unhealthy lifestyle for years. Unfortunately, it is likely to catch up with you before too long.

Every age group needs to be aware of heart health and the infographic takes you through the most important things you need to know about your heart health at each stage of your life.
